Practise in your Demo Clinic

Every clinic and hospital has a practice copy filled with made-up patients and staff. Train somebody in it, try something before you do it for real, and see it exactly the way your own role sees your real clinic.

01

What the Demo Clinic is

It is a separate workspace that looks like a working clinic, and nothing in it is a real person.

1

A clinic that looks busy, and is not real

Your Demo Clinic is filled with made-up patients, staff, appointments, ward stays, medicines, laboratory and imaging work, stock and invoices, across every screen you already use. It is there so you can practise on something that looks like a real day.

2

Nothing in it lasts

What anybody does in the Demo Clinic stays there until it is rebuilt, and a rebuild writes the clinic again from the same starting point. Your workspace decides when that happens: an administrator asks for it, or turns on a daily or weekly rebuild. Nothing you do there can reach your real records.

3

Nothing leaves the platform from it

No email, message, post or anything else is ever sent out of a Demo Clinic, however it looks on the screen. It is safe to press the buttons you would hesitate over in your real workspace.

4

Your real workspace is untouched

The Demo Clinic is a separate workspace with its own data. Working in it changes nothing about your clinic, your patients or your team.

02

Open it

It is in the same place you change clinics.

1

Open the workspace switcher

Select the workspace name at the top of the screen. Your Demo Clinic is listed just beneath the clinic it belongs to, marked as a demo.

Open your clinics
2

Choose it

The first time, it takes a few minutes to prepare: the screen tells you what is happening and opens on its own as soon as the clinic is ready. After that it opens straight away.

3

Know where you are

Inside a Demo Clinic, a red Demo Clinic chip sits beside the heading of every screen, next to the greeting on your home page. It cannot be closed, so a fictional patient can never be mistaken for a real one. Press it to read what applies to your workspace, including whether the sample clinic is ever rebuilt on a schedule.

4

Go back to your real clinic

Use the same switcher and choose the clinic itself. Nothing carries over in either direction.

03

See it the way your role sees it

The Demo Clinic opens with the role you already have in your workspace.

1

There is nothing to choose

You see the Demo Clinic with the same role and permissions you are signed in with, so the menu and the screens you can open are exactly the ones your job gives you. Press the Demo Clinic chip to see which role that is.

2

It follows your workspace

If an administrator changes your role in your real workspace, the Demo Clinic follows it. Nothing done inside the Demo Clinic can change your role, there or anywhere else, and its Team screen sends role changes for real people back to your real workspace.

3

Practise your own work

Because it shows your real view, it is the place to rehearse a task before you do it for real, or to walk a new colleague in the same role through their day.

04

If you run the workspace

Owners and administrators decide whether the Demo Clinic is offered at all, and can rebuild it on demand.

1

Open the Demo Clinic card

Go to Settings and choose General. The card shows when the clinic was last rebuilt, when the next rebuild happens, and whether the team can see it.

Open General settings
2

Hide it from the team

Turn off Show the Demo Clinic to take it out of everybody's workspace switcher. The sample clinic itself is kept, so turning it back on is immediate.

3

Reset it now

Reset now puts it back to its starting point straight away. Anybody working in it at that moment loses what they were doing, so say so first.

4

Know what it is not

The Demo Clinic is for training, testing and showing the product. It is not a place to keep anything, and it is not a backup of your real clinic.

Common questions

Can a real patient end up in the Demo Clinic?

No. It is a separate workspace with its own data, and nothing is copied into it from your real clinic. Everything in it is made up.

Will anything I do in the Demo Clinic be sent to anybody?

No. Nothing leaves the platform from a Demo Clinic: no email, no message, no post and no hand-off to another system.

What happens to my work in there overnight?

It stays, unless somebody rebuilds the clinic. Nothing is wiped overnight unless your workspace turned on a daily or weekly rebuild, so a scenario you set up for a training session is still there the next morning. An administrator can rebuild it whenever they want the sample clinic back the way it started.

Why can I not see the Demo Clinic?

An owner or administrator may have hidden it for the whole workspace, or you may hold a patient-only role. The Demo Clinic is a staff tool, and it follows the workspace you are staff of.

Can I look at the Demo Clinic as a different role?

No. It always opens with the role you have in your workspace, so what you see there matches your real access. Only an administrator can change your role, and they do that in your real workspace.

It says my Demo Clinic is being prepared. What should I do?

Wait. The screen checks by itself and opens the clinic as soon as it is ready, which usually takes a few minutes. If it says it could not be prepared, an administrator of the workspace can start it again from the Demo Clinic card in General settings.
